Gee Bee E  #SOY-114

The Gee Bee E designed by Henry Hafkke is back on the market.

This 40 size Golden Age Racer stand off scale model has undergone very minor changes to clean up the tooling and now includes a peel and stick Mylar decal. The round cowling and distinct color scheme are easily recognized where ever the model is flown.

This kit is recommend for experienced builders.  The kit has a modest hardware bag plus clear plastic cowl and wheel pants modelers will require engine mount and wheels, along with the usual glue and covering.

For the average flyer the Gee Bee E will be a pleasure to fly and a .40 engine is all that is needed to provide scale like speed.

The "e" powered Playboy from Spirit of Yesteryear model aircraft company is no novice at competition. With its under-cambered wing and classic looks it can hold it own when built light and powered with the light system for Texaco or LMR.

The kit has laser cut ribs and beautiful sanded parts for easy building. Both cabin or pylon version are provided for in the kit. Designed for geared 05 motors and seven cells the Playboy still flies well with a heavy 2000ma pack. The 800ma pack is required for SAM competition and the saving in weight enhances the performance.

Dallaire Sportster  #SOY-105

This is the first in the series of 1/2 A Texaco-Speed 400 models that Spirit of Yesteryear has lined up for kiting. The bulk of parts are laser cut and the model goes together so fast as to be a complete surprise for many builders. Motor mounts for both methods of power are laser cut and included in the box along with the wheels and a very complete hardware package.

The speed 400 motor may be geared or direct drive and use from six to eight 500ma cells depending on the performance the modeler is looking for. The choice of gearing should be considerate of prop clearances.

Lightweight radio gear is a must for the Dallair because of its size. As with all electrics, build light-fly right.

Buzzard Bombshell  #SOY-106

Spirit of Yesteryear's newest kit is Joe Konefes' Buzzard Bombshell, for 1/2A or speed 400 electric motor.

This popular 1940's model is laser cut for a perfect fit and comes with all hardware including wheels.

Gentle flying characteristics are found in the Buzzard and runway takeoff from paved or short grass strips are possible.  The wing area of 354sq. ins. The inexpensive speed 400 motors use six or seven cells of 500ma size along with a 15amp speed control.  Weight is an important factor in successful electric flight, so builders should consider the size of radio gear and covering used.
