Feather Merchant   #SOY-101

The Feather Merchant hailed from San Antonio, Texas 1939. While unique in appearance the model has very gentle and forgiving flight characteristics. Very light for its size the Feather Merchant still uses the original method of building wing tips and tail feathers with the use of reed. For use with Gas or Electric with both installation shown on the plan. Like many old timers the ever changing shapes may have the modeler wondering "what was the designer thinking."

One model has been reported to fly really well with an excellent climb on an inexpensive ferrite motor using a 1lb 7 cell 2000ma pack. Modelers should give this bit of American modeling history a second look and add it to their line up of craft.

The model features die cut ribs (original Lehmberge-Tabai dies) and sanded parts along with a small hardware package.

Astro Viking   #SOY-103

The Scooter has been added to the list of fine aircraft. The Scooter is a three meter built up aircraft for rudder, elevator and spoiler. The wing carries ballast tubes. Selected wood, which is laser cut, precise drawings and hardware make for a very complete kit.

With the renewed interest in three function built up craft, the Scooter promised to be a popular choice for modelers in the coming year. The Scooter has a long history of competition victories to it's name including six Nats wins a Tangerine win and many State championships. This graceful competition winning craft is all laser cut and perfect for the modeler who still enjoy a little challenge in their building.

This classic old timer has the lowest wing loading of any commercial electric kit we know of. The slim fuse is 1/32 sheeted over a built up frame. The wing has a laminated leading edge to make strong curves.

This gentle flyer has marvelous thermaling ability, and will most likely give Spirits competition wining Lanzo Bomber a good run at the trophies in future contests.

This peppy little twin finned racer is a perfect introduction for budding pylon racers. This laser cut kit makes good use of a Leisure 17 turn motor and seven cells or even a speed 480.

The simple box construction for the fuse and straight wing will easily go together in less time that most other kits and covering the model is a breeze with just one roll of covering and some spare bits for graphics or high lights.

Recommendations suggest seven cells, a folding prop and lightweight radio equipment.

Porterfield Collegiate  #SOY-707

This beautiful 1/6 scale electric model of the Collegiate high wing monoplane is the perfect choice for those modelers wishing to expand from seven cell craft. The recommended power range is Astro 15 to 25 geared motor and appropriate call count.

The smooth lines of the Collegiate are easy to build and the pictured instructions make for straight forward building for most modelers.  The finished model will weigh around 4 lb and has not trouble flying well on just three functions. The more experienced modeler may wish to add ailerons where shown on the plans. The model is beautifully cut and sanded. It includes a tail wheel as part of the hardware package.
